I would like to share a liitle history about this man; Peter, Pierre, Pedro, Boutros
Peter started as a young man in the Netherlands playing soccer. He'd always been active and into playing sports.
He started training Dutch Mauy Thai at age 15, he trained for 4yrs before joining the Army, in The Royal Dutch Marines. He actively served his country, operating out of North Norway, Cambodia, Dutch Caribbean Islands, Denmark, Italy and Germany.
Peter trained for some time in Boxing after the Army before joining the dutch police force for 10 years where he continued his martial arts training (unarmed training systems).
With all this experience you can see how it has shaped Peter in being very motivated and self disciplined.
We asked Peter how he came into BJJ;
Peter: Before coming to Australia I was not even aware about BJJ as The Netherlands is typical Kick-boxing, Muay Thai - stand up Martial Arts. Someone at work talked about it & controlled a much bigger and stronger male by using BJJ after which I was intrigued and interested straight away.
Peter wanted to get his kids into bjj and mma training and found his way to Strike MMA in 2015. In 2016 Pete jumped on the mats to have a roll with Myself (Dave Johnson). Peter never looked back finding a passion for Jiu Jitsu that he could share with his kids and also optimise his ability to be safe and effective in his profession.
Peter has become a valued member and leader at Strike MMA. Having a positive impact in helping teach BJJ classes as assistant coach. Being a good rolemodel and team member inside the culture and community. He is also involved and partnered with Strike MMA in the Schools BJJ Mentoring programs.
“ If you are not a part of the solution you are a part of the problem.
Be a valued contributor to your community and
you will be admired and respected"

Peter's promotion to Blue belt on May 22nd 2019 was well earned and deserved. He has shown the skill, attitude and a growth mindset of someone Strike MMA can be proud of.
